Adult Ministry

We have numerous ministries and activities at our church, including adult Bible study, music ministry, and outreach ministries and missions. It's all part of our desire to help our community experience God's welcome, understand His word, and join in His work.

Young Adult ministries -- Learn more about the many opportunities for discipleship and fellowship we offer for young adults at Memorial.
Bible Study -- We offer Bible study on Sundays and throughout the week for adults of all ages. Visit the Bible Study section of our Web site for more information.

Outreach Ministries -- Leading others to be on mission with God to bring the members and friends of Memorial, our community, state, and world to the saving grace of Jesus Christ is the primary purpose of the Missions Commission. It plans, develops and coordinates, oversees and performs mission activities.

On a broad scale, the commission coordinates activities with the Baptist World Alliance, the Virginia Baptist Resource Center, Virginia Baptist Mission Board, International Mission Board, and other local, state and foreign mission organizations. The Missions Commission works in the areas of home, state and foreign missions to support and coordinate mission awareness.

Memorial participates in a number of outreach ministries in the community. For information on getting involved, please us our contact us form or call the church office at 703-538-7000 between 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Sanctuary Choir -- Our adult choir sings at the 11:00 a.m. worship service and performs exceptional music throughout the year. Special music services are performed at Easter and Christmas. The choir rehearses on Wednesday nights from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. Our church is blessed with a host of talented individuals with wonderful voices and special musical abilities. We welcome participation from all who want to serve the church and glorify the Lord through music worship leadership. Please contact Richard Buerkle, music director, to inquire about participation.

Chime Choir -- Listening to our Chime Choir is a joyful and heavenly experience! Hand chimes sound like hand bells but are less fragile and are easier to play. We welcome beginner players. Even those who can't read music can chime because we use color-coded music which is easy to follow. The Chime Choir regularly performs during the 11:00 a.m. worship service and at special occasions such as the Christmas Eve candlelight service. Rehearsals are held on Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Keep those hands busy and join our Chime Choir! Please contact Jacqui Yeatman for more information.

LifeLine is the praise band that leads our 8:30 a.m. contemporary service in the intimate setting of our chapel. Acoustic guitars and mandolin, bass, drums, and keyboard provide the foundation for our “joyful noise.” What do you play? Come and find out how your talent can help us praise the Lord. We rehearse Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

LifeLine has just released their debut Self-titled album. Simply click on the CD to hear the album online, and check back soon for lead sheets and behind the music stories.
